Description: Planning schemes are regulatory instruments that set out requirements that apply to new use and development. A planning scheme has two parts: a map, the "plan", which divides the planning authority area into land use zones; and the rules, the "ordinance", which sets out the conditions under which use and development can take place. The Tasmanian Interim Planning Scheme Zones, Overlays and Zone Boundaries are integrated into a Statewide from the declaration of new Interim Planning Schemes in 2014 and 2015. Note: New Interim Planning Schemes are not yet all declared for Tasmania, it is expected this will be complete prior to the end of 2015.
