This is a map image layer which includes the datasets relevant to prospecting activity in Tasmania. The sub layers included are:<\/SPAN><\/P> Mineral Deposits - all alluvial mineral deposits from the Tasmanian Information on Geoscience and Exploration Resources (TIGER) database, and filtered for those located within areas where prospecting is allowed.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI> Exploration Licences - areas covered by current exploration licences or exploration licence applications; prospectors require additional permissions to undertake prospecting in these areas.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI> Mining Leases - areas covered by current mining leases or mining lease applications; prospectors require additional permissions to undertake prospecting in these areas.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI> Fossicking Areas - declared fossicking areas, prospecting is not allowed in these areas but fossicking is. The two activities are similar but fossicking does not require a licence and cannot be undertaken for commercial gain.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI> Prospecting Access - all the land area of Tasmania classified according to whether or not prospecting is allowed.<\/SPAN><\/P><\/LI><\/UL>
